Why not put pictures of the winners and their bots next to the list of winners?

If you’re starting out with an Arduino, or teaching classes on it, I’d recommend stocking the following basic components - as everything here can be obtained for a very minimal cost and you’ll be able to teach/learn most of the basic types of input and output with various sensors and interface with several basicshields. The tools are important as well! www.robomart.com will be helpfull to all of u. thnks …..and best of luck frnds

Hi There FYI I have one of these little magic BOB and needed to connect via I2C, not SPI I am using this library and it works : https://github.com/SandboxElectronics/UART_Bridge I added FIFOEnable(1); add the end of the begin function in SC16IS750.h to allow receiving strings (otherwise works with 1 character at a time) Hope this helps

Ive tried doing that a couple times too and my wires eventually broke off the jumper pads. I didn’t like the dangling switch either.

I think one of the lessons we are supposed to get from SFE is to take what they give us and run with it. I modified their SFE eagle file to include a DPDT SMD slide switch and a couple leds to indicate voltage (red-5v green-3v3). My FT231x board does exactly what I want it to.

Really wish there was an RC network on the CLR\ pin to ensure the display is blank on power up. Otherwise, it works well.

the GPS mouting strategie is interesting! Mounting on gimbal would help but add weight. Double GPS with different orientation would add redundancy but would cost more.

Robomaniac, The vertical GPS mounting strategy worked better than I thought it would. I thought that changing from horizontal mounting of the EM506 to vertical mounting would cause the number of satellites in view to drop by 4 or 5, but it only dropped by 1 or 2. So far I have made about a dozen inverted flights with the vertical mounting with consistent, reliable results. Best regards, Bill
