Hi, sorry for the problems you’re having! This error message means the library can’t find the card, which could be due to one (or more) of the following: bad card / bad format / bad socket or not inserted properly / bad Arduino header / bad Arduino / or something else using the SPI bus. I’ve only seen that message if I forgot to put in the card, or if the card itself is dead or not formatted correctly (which is unlikely as the SdFat library can read all the common FAT and FAT32 variants). You might try the SDFormatter utility which sometimes makes unresponsive cards work, but if that doesn’t help, please do contact our Tech Support department, they should be able to help you out.
